Sweet and smooth flavor, high caffeine, low acidity
Use fresh roasted coffee ground just before brewing.
Brew with the right water at the right temperature - filtered is best between 195-205 Fahrenheit.
Use a scale to measure your coffee and water. Use one part coffee to 15–18 parts water, depending on taste preference.
Keep whole bean coffee in an airtight container, out of direct sunlight, and away from any heat and moisture.
Sweet and smooth flavor, high caffeine, low acidity
This is your coffee-to-water ratio. For this recipe, we will be using 25 grams of coffee and 400 grams of water.
We recommend you use a burr grinder and grind your coffee fresh just before brewing.
If you don't have a thermometer, wait 60-90 seconds after boil
Step 1: Gather your supplies
Step 2: Grind coffee
Weigh out 125 grams of coffee and grind on a medium-coarse setting
Step 3: Add grounds to container.
Add coffee grounds to a clean, glass brewing container. This can be a mason jar, pyrex, serving pitcher, etc.
Step 4: Add water
Add 1000g of filtered water to the brewing vessel.
Step 5: Steep
Start a timer and brew at room temperature or in the fridge for 18-24 hours depending on strength preference.
Step 6: Filter
Strain with slurry with cheesecloth first to catch most of the grounds. Run the remaining brew through a coffee filter to catch any sediment that slipped through the cheese cloth.
Step 7: Dilute
This recipe provides a 2x concentrated brew. You can dilute the concentrate with filtered water, up to 1000 grams to your strength preference. You can also keep the brew strong and make iced cold brew lattes at home - just add 3 ounces of cold brew and 5 ounces of milk over ice!
Step 8: Store & Enjoy
Serve chilled with ice and any fixings you enjoy (or make your own cold brew ice cubes). Store in the fridge for up to 7 days.
